Discover the 3 Ps of chiropractic care — Pain relief, Prevention, and Performance — and why patients keep coming back.

Key Takeaways

  • Most patients initially seek chiropractic care for pain relief — and it delivers strong results.
  • Continued chiropractic care supports prevention by improving overall system function and reducing the likelihood of future injuries.
  • Athletes and high performers use chiropractic care to gain a competitive edge by optimizing how their body functions.
  • Chiropractic care is relevant across all stages of health — not just when something goes wrong.
  • Understanding the 3 Ps (Pain, Prevention, Performance) helps patients see chiropractic as a long-term wellness strategy, not a one-time fix.

Overview

Why Do People Go to the Chiropractor?

Most people walk through our doors because something hurts. But as Dr. Michael St. Louis explains, pain relief is just the beginning. At Atlas Injury to Health, chiropractic care is built around three core pillars that serve patients at every stage of their wellness journey.

  • Pain – The most common entry point. Whether it's a nagging ache or an acute injury, chiropractic care helps patients get out of pain and back to life.
  • Prevention – Once patients experience the full benefits of chiropractic, many choose to stay under care. They notice they're getting sick less often, their body systems are functioning better, and future injuries are less likely.
  • Performance – From professional athletes to everyday movers, chiropractic care helps people operate at their peak. That competitive edge — physical and neurological — is why high performers make chiropractic a non-negotiable part of their routine.

Whether you're chasing relief, resilience, or your personal best, there's a place for chiropractic care in your health plan.

Dr. Michael St. Lewis with Atlas Injury Health. Why do people come to the chiropractor? Well, typically there's three Ps to chiropractic. Pain, prevention, and performance. Most people come to us for pain. That's how they find us. They're hurting and they want to get fixed. And we do great work with that. Once they get what chiropractic is really about and the benefits that it truly brings, that brings along prevention. People stay under chiropractic care and love chiropractic care because as they go through care, they see that they're getting sick less, their systems are working better, and they're preventing any future injuries or other pain issues that they may have. Now, performance is where when we're seeing our professional athletes, they realize that when they're under chiropractic care, they're working at their optimum and that puts them to have a competitive edge over their competition. And they love that too.
