Pediatric Care

Gentle Care.
Lifelong Foundation.

Early spinal health shapes lifelong wellness. Our pediatric adjustments use the lightest possible touch — no cracking, no twisting — to support healthy development from birth through adolescence.

Pediatrics

Care for Every Stage of Childhood

Newborns

Birth can be one of the most physically traumatic events a human experiences. Even uncomplicated deliveries place significant force on a newborn's neck and spine. Gentle pediatric adjustments — using only the pressure you'd apply to check a ripe tomato — can help correct subtle misalignments that contribute to latching difficulties, colic, sleep disturbances, and reflux.

Toddlers

As children learn to crawl, walk, and explore, they take countless falls. Most are harmless, but cumulative impact can subtly shift spinal alignment and affect developing nervous system function. Regular checkups catch these small issues before they influence posture, coordination, or immune response.

School-Age

Heavy backpacks, prolonged screen time, and sports injuries are the signature challenges of school-age children. Our age-appropriate techniques address these modern stressors while supporting healthy posture, focus, and athletic performance.

Common Pediatric Concerns We Address

Our pediatric care addresses a wide range of developmental and health concerns. These are conditions where gentle chiropractic care often plays a supportive role alongside your pediatrician's care:

  • Colic and reflux
  • Ear infections and recurrent illness
  • Sleep difficulties
  • ADHD and focus challenges
  • Growing pains
  • Sports injuries
  • Posture issues
  • Headaches
  • Scoliosis screening

What to Expect

A pediatric visit at Atlas feels nothing like a traditional adjustment. For infants, we use only the pressure of a fingertip — enough to gently influence the atlas vertebra without any force. Older children receive age-appropriate techniques tailored to their size and comfort.

Every visit includes a thorough consultation with you. We explain what we're doing, why, and what to look for at home. Our goal is to partner with you and your pediatrician, not replace them.

Pediatric Chiropractic Care in Winter Garden and Ocala

Families come to us from across Central Florida, and pediatric care is available at both of our clinics. Winter Garden serves a growing community of young families and youth athletes, where prevention and healthy development are the focus. Ocala serves families across Marion County, including multi-generational households where several family members are under care together.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is chiropractic care safe for babies and children?
Pediatric adjustments bear no resemblance to adult techniques. For an infant we use roughly the pressure you would apply to check a ripe tomato — no twisting, no sudden movement, no force. Techniques are matched to a child's age and size, and our clinical team screens carefully before providing any care. Pediatric chiropractic is intended to work alongside your pediatrician, never to replace their care.
At what age can a child be checked?
Children can be evaluated at any age, including within days of birth. Birth itself places meaningful force on a newborn's neck and spine, so an early check is simply an assessment of how that spine is sitting. Nothing is adjusted unless the evaluation indicates it would help.
What happens at a first pediatric visit?
The first visit is mostly conversation. We take a full history covering pregnancy, birth, milestones, and any concerns you have, then perform an age-appropriate physical assessment. We explain what we find in plain language and what we would suggest, and you decide how to proceed. Parents stay with their child throughout.
Do you have pediatric care at both Winter Garden and Ocala?
Yes. Pediatric care is available at both our Winter Garden and Ocala clinics, and our clinical team serves both locations. You can schedule at whichever is more convenient for your family.
Should I still see our pediatrician?
Absolutely, and we would encourage it. We partner with your pediatrician rather than working around them. If your child has a condition that needs medical assessment, diagnosis, or treatment, that belongs with your physician — and we will say so and refer rather than proceed.
