Improve your posture in Winter Garden
Upper cervical care for posture correction at Atlas Injury to Health in Winter Garden, Florida

Poor posture is one of the most common contributors to chronic neck, back, and shoulder pain — and Winter Garden residents are no exception. At Atlas Injury to Health on N Dillard St, our team looks beyond surface-level symptoms to identify the structural misalignments, muscle imbalances, and daily habits that keep your posture out of alignment.

Dr. Patrick Russell leads posture correction care at our Winter Garden clinic, applying chiropractic principles to address the root causes of postural dysfunction. Whether you're dealing with forward head posture from desk work or rounded shoulders from daily routines, Dr. Russell builds a personalized plan to restore balance and reduce long-term strain.

Frequently Asked Questions

How does the Orlando commute affect my posture?

Many Winter Garden patients spend an hour or more each day seated in traffic on top of a full day at a desk, and that combination compounds postural strain in a way occasional slouching never would. Dr. Russell evaluates how prolonged sitting during your commute interacts with your workday habits, then builds a plan that addresses both rather than treating them as separate issues.

Can posture correction help my child before it becomes a lifelong problem?

Yes. Growing bodies adapt quickly to poor habits, and catching rounded shoulders or forward head posture early — before school backpacks and screen time solidify the pattern — makes correction far more straightforward. Our clinical team's pediatric expertise means young patients in Winter Garden receive age-appropriate evaluation and care designed around a still-developing spine.

I'm an athlete — will posture work actually improve my performance?

Posture directly affects mechanics, breathing efficiency, and injury risk, which is why it matters to serious athletes and not just desk workers. Dr. Russell's connections within NFL athlete care inform how he evaluates competitive and recreational athletes alike in Winter Garden, looking for postural faults that quietly limit performance long before they show up as pain.

What happens during my first posture consultation with Dr. Russell?

Dr. Russell begins with advanced diagnostics to map how your spine, shoulders, and hips are actually aligned, then discusses the daily patterns — commuting, desk setup, training routine — most likely driving the dysfunction. From there, you'll receive a personalized plan aimed at restoring function, with clear expectations for how care will unfold at our Winter Garden clinic.

How We Treat Posture Correction

Posture correction at Atlas Injury to Health addresses the structural, muscular, and habitual components that create and reinforce poor posture.

Our protocol includes:

  • Atlas Orthogonal precision adjustments to restore proper spinal alignment — the structural foundation of good posture
  • Digital X-ray monitoring to track postural improvement over time
  • SoftWave Tissue Regeneration Therapy to address chronic inflammation from postural strain
  • Targeted massage and soft tissue work to release tension patterns and adhesions
  • Custom therapeutic exercises strengthening core, upper back, and cervical stabilizers
  • Spinal decompression for disc-related postural dysfunction
  • Ergonomic and lifestyle guidance to reinforce corrections between visits

With regular care, adjustments, lifestyle changes, and targeted exercises, we help patients break bad postural habits and build good ones. The result is not just less pain — it's better function, improved appearance, and protection against chronic conditions that poor posture creates.

What Winter Garden Posture Correction Patients Say

It’s to the point where everyone I know has now been told about how much this office has helped me. I know people who have been mishandled by chiropractors offices (to an extreme extent)- but it was clear to me after the first visit and consultation that this office and their specialty is different. I have been on a steady track of improvement in just around two months of seeing Dr. St Louis. He’s consistently found every single problem spot I come in thinking I’m going to tell him about…but I never have to. He always finds the issue before I can point it out to him. His skills and talent are undeniable, and I have noticed similar with Dr. Russel. I went from “Nobody is ever gonna touch my neck” to looking forward to having a full adjustment every appointment. I leave with so much less pain, it leaves me incredulous. I’m not sure anybody could have told me before I came here that something like this was possible for me. I believed they’d help me- but I don’t think anyone would have been able to convince me it would be THIS much. I went from being unable to sit for any period of time at all to being able to endure short bursts to now I can mostly sit as long as k need to within reason. There is still much to be done with my own self discipline and posture corrections etc, but just being able to finally sleep again is incredible. The atlas adjustment is probably the coolest part for me. You can’t feel the tool actually do anything while it’s working, which is spooky and also super cool. but I have noticed a difference immediately after being re-set both times I’ve had it done now. I highly recommend this office. I’ve seen them also handle really difficult people with a lot of kindness and patience, which is amazing for any office in 2026. I watched a gentleman come in and demand he bypass the process that has been established (for a reason, right…?) and I was impressed to see how they handled him and were able to explain to him (multiple times) why the process is what it is and he eventually agreed to an appointment following the office protocol. 😅 Anyways, love this place, love the people, fantastic, thank you for giving me my quality of life back! 🥳🤩

As a full-time wedding photographer, I spend 10+ hours a day on my feet and sometimes 14 hours editing at a computer. Over time, it really took a toll on my body. A few months ago, I started getting intense headaches, my vision would go blurry, and I felt this constant pressure and pain in my neck and head. That’s when I knew it was finally time to see a chiropractor. Choosing a chiropractor can honestly be scary — you’re trusting someone with one of the most delicate and important parts of your body. I did extensive research, read countless reviews, and ultimately chose Atlas Chiropractor because they specialize in the Atlas and cervical spine. That alone already felt different from every other office I looked into. One thing I truly love is that they take actual X-rays and show you exactly what’s going on, instead of guessing. In my X-rays, you could clearly see that my spine was curved and my neck had lost its natural curve — it was completely straight. When your neck is like that, the nerves can’t send proper signals. It can cause headaches, fatigue, constipation, and overall just feeling “off.” They explained that if it goes untreated long enough, the bones can actually start to fuse. I’m so grateful I caught mine in time. I’ve been going for about a month now, and the difference is incredible. I’ve had almost no headaches, my energy is back, and (TMI maybe, but important!) my digestion is so much better. I genuinely feel like myself again. Beyond the science and the adjustments, their team is one of the most welcoming, kind, and friendly groups of people I’ve ever met. They treat you like family the moment you walk through the door. I could write a whole book about how much this place has helped me — but honestly, you should just go see for yourself. Thank you, Atlas Chiropractor, for giving me my quality of life back!

Dr. Healey is great and walks you through the whole process. She made me feel comfortable, especially as someone who does not like any sort of medical appointments. I appreciate how detailed she was with what’s going on with my body and how detailed the plan is to correct me.

I came into the office a little skeptical but my daughter encouraged me to make the hour trip and give it a try. For me to drive an hour is a big deal but it has been so well worth it. I have had two back operations and was really struggling. I had pretty much come to accept my situation. Well after my first atlas adjustment I got teary eyed. Things looked clearer and I could hear better. I sure wasn’t expecting that. Aside from that, I started walking upright after the second visit and have been able to do things I haven’t been able to do for a couple of years. On top of that my TMJ has very much subsided. Now if I was reading this I probably would question this testimony. But as God is my witness what I state here is true. I have been seeing chiropractors since I was 32 and I am now 71. The Atlas approach is very different and I encourage you to try it. It will change your life!

I work in EMS and have struggled with back, neck, migraine, and health issues for a while. I was getting medicated and not given a solution, so I went to see the Atlas team. Dr. St. Louis and his team offer a great family feel as soon as you walk in. Dr. St. Louis explained to me in detail what was happening with my body and set out a plan to accomplish my goal of living a healthy young lifestyle. So far, I have seen improvement in my posture and circulation. I am only two appointments in and look forward to seeing what else changes along the way. Highly recommend!
